Xiaomi’s Surge S1:First In house chipset : Explained : Mi 5c launch

xioami is  independent about their components. But this achievements a huge step towards making xiaomi more indepent. Now xiaomi has become 4th company to build its own house chip themselves after apple , samsung & huawei. & also xiaomi is the 2nd Chinese company to achieve this. “The ability to create its own chipsets is the pinnacle achievement
for any smartphone company,” said Xiaomi chief executive Lei Jun in a statement.Developing a chipset was part of a 10-years road map . It seemed that in order to achieve its vision of making innovation available to everyone, Xiaomi needed to find ways to combine development of both hardware and software, including at the chipset level. Surge S1 is the result and came out of the company’s Pinecone research and development subsidiary after 28 months of pinecone's establishment. Pincone was established on 16 oct 2014. here in this diagram you can see how this processor has been developed day by day. This is the first generation processor from xioami & of course they will keep developing it.

so The Surge S1 is the first in-house chipset for Xiaomi, using an octa-core ARM Cortex A53 processor, and incorporating 4 x 2.2GHz cores and 4 x 1.4GHz cores, which the company said achieves “a balance between performance and power efficiency.” it has low power control system component inside the chipset. it supports LPddr3 & EMMC5.0. Also included is an integrated Mali T-860 MP4 GPU, which will provide “superb” graphics performance in gaming and support for 4K videos, and a 32-bit DSP supporting VoLTE and 16kHz sampling to deliver high-quality audio and voice calls. ALSO HAS CHIP LEVEL SECURITY WITH TTE ARCHITECTURE.  ANOTHER main support is 16 bit DUAL CORE ISP WHICH ENHANCES MORE LIGHT SENSITIVITY & DUAL NOISE REDUCTION ALGORITHM. THAT IS HELPFUL TO more improve the camera picture & video quality for low light photography than the previous & other models in the market. The chipset is claimed to have a special expertise on image processing. Surge S1's ISP algorithm claims to improve camera light sensitivity by almost 150 per cent giving Xiaomi the much needed boost in low-light camera technology.

also the antutu score for this chipset is 64817 which is just before snapdragon 625 chipset & greekbench 4.0 score is 3399 which is also just before snapdragon 625 chipset placing surge s1 at the top level of benchmark. The launch of its proprietary chipset moves Xiaomi away from offerings by Qualcomm and MediaTek, providers that many manufacturers turn to for high-end and low-end phones, respectively & definitely they should be worried about.

In conjunction with THIS CHIPSET ANNOUNCEMENT, the company also introduced the Mi 5c, which is the first phone to use this inaugural chipset.  this smartphone is SO light. It comes equipped with a 1.25µm ultra light-sensitive 12-megapixel camera. ALSO WILL HAVE 3GB of RAM,64GB of internal memory,& fingerprint sensor. The device gets an all-metal body with a 5.15 inch screen which can crank up a brightness level of  550-nits with the somewhat iphone 7 looks. price will be $218 approximately Indian rupees 14500.

xiaomi's modular tv : mi tv 4 launched @ CES 2017

xiaomi has launched modular TV at CES 2017.

Xiaomi debuts in CES 2017, the first CES appearance for a relatively new company with new product announcements. The Chinese consumer electronics giant announced three new products which include modular tv named and Xiaomi Mi TV 4 followed by launch of Xiaomi Mi MIX White, & Mi Route HD router . Xiaomi Mi TV 4 was probably the most exciting product at CES 2017 & great innovation by xiaomi that will sure make a storm in television market cause this tv is in modular aspect of the television and the insane 4.9 mm thin form factor which makes worlds brezeless thinnest television.

 But what is modular tv?

typically no a days the television we are using that is non modular tvs means all the components of tv i.e motherboard, tv ports , speakers are placed inside tv frame with attach of display panel& also we install extra hometheater with with it externally. but this modular television comes with a display panel & a bar. where inside the bar all the ports, motherboard speakers are placed all together which make it easy for consumers to upgrade the television without breaking their bank balance. just like if we consume this idea with the concept of our laptop & desktop. where in desktop we can easily upgrade each component individually. thus Hugo Barra pointed that the TV display does not need to be replaced instead, the motherboard, named as Mi TV Bar can be replaced to upgraded the television while only investing a fraction of the amount users would spend in swapping the entire television set with other companies. The company has integrated Sound system with Motherboard while you can still attach wireless speakers to ensure a wire-free sound setup. Mi TV bar comes with ten integrated speakers along with two wireless rear satellite speakers and a subwoofer. Mi Bar gives users, easy access to all the HDMI, USB 3.0, Network and other additional sound ports. The Mi Bar only needs one cable from Mi Port to transfer all the information to the display.

The third interesting aspected of the Mi TV is the inclusion of PatchWall, the deep learning AI technology on top of Android OS. The AI technology uses a large amount of metadata about television shows and movies to give you a personalized and virtually endless list of content recommendations. After the patchwall, last but not the least,Mi TV 4 is equipped with Dolby Atmos sound system for theatre-like three-dimensional sound experience.Mi TV 4 will ship in three display sizes starting from 49-inches going up to 55-inches and maxing out to 65-inches.The 65-inch Mi TV 4 will cost under $1500 without Dolby Atmos home theatre experience, and
it will cost under $2000 with the Dolby Atmos home theater setup. Mi TV 4 will start shipping in China later this year. But there still there is no news to launched  in India.
