Odisha (formerly Orissa), an eastern Indian state on the Bay of Bengal, is known for its tribal cultures and 
its many ancient Hindu temples. The capital, Bhubaneswar, is home to hundreds of temples, notably the 
intricately-carved Mukteshvara. The Lingaraj Temple complex, dating to the 11th century, is set around 
sacred Bindusagar Lake. The Odisha State Museum is focused on the area’s history and environment.

1) Bhubaneshwar-The capital of Odisha

Sprawling over 400 hectare of land, Situated in Bhubaneshwar, this park is set  amidst Chandaka forest and has a beautiful lake called Kanjia. The park is a home of about 166 species of animals  including White Tigers.


9) Udaygiri and Khandagiri Caves

 Situated in Bhubhaneshwar, these historic caves are ornately carved as to please the eyes of the onlookers.  Udaygiri has a group of 15 caves while Khandagiri is an 18 caves complex


10) Shanti Stupa 

 stituated at Dhauli hills are located on the banks of the river Daya, 8 km south of Bhubaneswar a dazzling    white peace pagoda has been built by the Japan Buddha Sangha and the Kalinga Nippon Buddha Sangha in   the 1970s

How to Reach Orissa


By air: The Biju Patnaik Airport at Bhubaneswar is the best way to reach Orissa by air. The airport is well-connected to different cities of India like Kolkata, Hyderabad Mumbai, Delhi, Nagpur, Raipur and so on.



By train: The major railhead is in the state capital known as Bhubaneswar Railway station  and is served by major train networks that connect it to other parts of the state as well as the country. Rajdhani, Coromondal Express, Konarak Express are some of the famous trains that serve this station. Also "PURI" is another famous rail station


By Road: The state of Orissa can be easily accessed via National Highway number 5, 6, 23, 42 and 43 run that run through the state.
